2. Where did you find inspiration for your design?
We worked on our branding together a few months ago when we worked on our website [www.wearthemhoops.com]. We still wanted to appear glam and blingin’, however we wanted to have a little bit more class. Hoop high-fash, you know? We drew from space images with delicate stars and some more refined colleges and patterns, and voila! That logo has rubbed off onto our G-Shock.

3. How fashionable is a watch? How necessary are they as an accessory?
There are so many cool watches out there, they are definitely fashionable. In terms of necessity though, I seem to go through phases of wearing and not wearing watches. I recently broke one of my favourite watches and now I spend way too much time searching my naked wrist for the time. Perfect timing to get the opportunity to design our own.

4. You’ve played exclusive parties before, what have been the best ones?
We had a pretty hilarious gig a few weeks ago where Jessica Maulboy and Scribe got on the mic during the middle of our set. Never regretted NOT owning a Maulboy track more.

5. What makes a party a success?
The people for sure. You can be playing in the most amazing venue, with the best bar and the most ridiculous celebrities but unless the crowd is getting into it there's really no party.

6. Which city in the world has the best parties?
In Australia, we love playing Brisbane. I’ve partied pretty hard in Paris, does that count?

7. What type of tracks should we expect HOOPS to play at G-SHOCK: Shock The World Tour?
We’re loving Brooklyn producer Kingdom’s remixes, and since coming out for Parklife, I’ve been reminded how good Aeroplane and The Glimmers really are.

8. Who are your favourite DJs and why?
Ro Sham Bo, because they’re our family.

9. In your opinion, what’s harder? Spinning tracks or playing a traditional instrument? Why?
Hmmm, both are difficult in different ways. We played piano for years and I also played trombone, so we've got experience in both. I hated sight reading and always found that pretty hard, so maybe playing a traditional instrument was a bit harder for me. But with all musical instruments, the more you play the more there is to learn and master so there is similarities in that respect.

10. What’s next for HOOPS after G-SHOCK?
We're getting back into throwing Hoops parties and gearing up for all the summer fun/festivities/festivals.

Fashion Questions:
If you could put your fashion style in a ‘genre’ what would it be? (e.g. Indie / Vintage / Chic) Well it's really all about hybrid genres these days...I wouldn't say we fit exactly into Indie, Vintage or Chic categories. Day to day we probably all opt for cool-casual, stuff that's comfy but with an interesting edge. The for gigs and going out a bit more high-fash. We love a good statement piece too!

What is your most-loved item of clothing? Where did you get it? Why do you love it so much?
I bought this amazing pair of jeans from Glebe markets for like $20 and they are probably one of the best things I've ever bought. They were acid-wash, high wasted numbers with the perfect rips in the knees. I had them for about 2 years then they got a massive rip in the bum and I had to chuck them. It was a very sad day.

Who are your fashion icons?
Prince, Pixie Geldof, Alexa Chung Erin Wasson and Sophie Braham.

Do you have fashion ‘rules’ that you’d like to share with us? (e.g. never wear pattern on pattern? Etc)
No, we don't really have any rules. Our fashion back-catalogue is testament to this! I wear double denim all the time even though that's pretty much a fashion cardinal sin. The only guideline is really to be comfortable and confident in what you're wearing. If you're not, then you're not going to look your best.

What do you think people should NOT wear in public?
CROCS and glitter beanies.

What are your favourite places to find good threads?
Incu, Somedays, Shag on Oxford, Capital L, Dobry Den, Paris Texas, (the soon to be opening in Sydney!) Topshop and online at Opening Ceremony and sometimes even E-bay.

Shoes or handbag?
Shoes - it was all about sneakers until recently, now we're all about heels.
