Tickets for Phoenix’s long sold-out Hordern Pavilion date proved to be one of the hottest and most soughtafter items in town! Now, finally a second show has been confirmed for the good folk of Sydney! Phoenix will play a final show at Luna Park’s Big Top on Wednesday March 3.

Tickets will go on sale through The Big Top box office and Ticketmaster on Friday February 5 at 9am. In August of 2009, Phoenix sold out their only three Australian shows so fast that there were just as many tearful ticketless folk outside the venues as there were those inside lucky enough to witness the best damn pop show of their lives.

“They’ve got the whole package,” declared Undercover after witnessing the band’s August tour. “A slick, wellexecuted live show packed with everything a Phoenix fan could want and more.”

After a decade together and with four damn fine albums to their name, including their latest, 2009’s stellar Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix, the Parisienne foursome come armed with one of the most delicious set-lists going around – ranging from Wolfgang’s irresistible radio favourites Lisztomania and 1901, to the singalong stomp of Long Distance Call and Napoleon Says, the hip-shakin’ Consolation Prizes, and early fan favourites Run Run Run, Too Young and If I Ever Feel Better.

Singer Thomas Mars, guitarists Christian Mazzalai and Laurent Brancowitz and bassist Deck D’Arcy offer a uniquely French blend of charisma, style, underground electronic soundscapes, infectious melodies, sharp hooks, house beats and retro rock.

Special guests on all East Coast shows will be MIAMI HORROR. Producer Benjiman Plant has made a name for himself with remixes of The Presets, Faker, Pnau and Datarock. Irresistible, electro-indie-pop, Miami Horror’s latest offering is the infectious track Sometimes from the forthcoming album due early 2010. At a recent Melbourne gig, Fasterlouder exclaimed of Miami Horror’s four-piece live ensemble: “…this music is even greater live. Don’t wait to find out about Miami Horror on the back of some dance annual, this is the kind of performance worth seeing live.”
