Kate Bradley Bio

"Her music swirls and swoops, snarls, soothes. It's music that sounds as if it's ripped from deep inside"
Noel Mengel, The Courier Mail, Australia."

Billboard named Kate Bradley as an artist to watch in 2007.

Despite being unsigned, Kate recently "wowed" crowded audiences, performing at South By South West (SXSW) in Austin, Texas, as well as in New York, in March 2008. She performed alongside artists including, The Vines, Paul Kelly, The Panics, and Old Man River. The band was also shortlisting Sonicbids band for CMJ in New York.

Kate Bradley is one of the most exciting new voices to emerge from the humid city of Brisbane. Her music is poetic, endearing, diverse, and raw. Kate Bradley is an artist who has the classical edge on songwriting. She tells stories. She can be abstract. She can be poppy, quirky, and a little bit of a mystery. The songs move between indie rock, alt-country, punk and folk styles.

In 2005, she recorded and released an EP which won instant airplay on Triple J and the EP received rave reviews. Kate Bradley / Goodbye Horses released a self-funded debut album, "The Deeper The Sand" in May, 2008 which like her EP has enjoyed some solid press attention:

"Bradley holds a steady course and explores her taste for atmospheric guitar friction..."

Craig Mathleson, Sydney Morning Herald, Australia

"While the music is passionate and direct, the lyrics are subtle, mysterious, and that contrast all adds to the pleasures of discovering one of the best new artists to emerge in Australia of late"

Noel Mengel, The Courier Mail, Australia

"...a solid debut collection of predominantly garage rockers with a shiny pop edge to it"

Mitch Alexander, RAVE Magazine

Kate Bradley / Goodbye Horses is touring the album throughout 2008 and has also commenced working the follow up "Tarantula" which will be released in 2009.

Quote From Kate Bradley:
"The last time I won anything was in primary school. It was an Easter egg basket.
Winning Uncharted would be far better than those Easter eggs.
To be shortlisted for uncharTED has really come as a shock to me and the band.
We are excited about the possibilities of getting to perform at the Big Day Out and play with some great acts too! However, just to be shortlisted by MySpace that is very cool! Big thanks to them!"

Quote from Mark Bulgin, Marketing Manager MySpace:
"What can I say, I'm a sucker for great lyrics and storytelling, Kate Bradley brings this to life in a unique and sincere way. Musically, the arrangements demonstrate a maturity beyond her years and provide an excellent context for her introspection and hauntingly beautiful vocals."
